10 x 50 minutes
Ten hours of television, a thousand years of history...this massive series for CNN and BBC was globe-trotting in ambition. The idea was to make ten 50 minute films each telling the six most significant stories from around the world in that century. None of the six stories were connected and each one had to be able to be shown separately. Like most big tv projects with huge budgets, the pictures look good, but there are so many cooks... I made two centuries, the 11th and 15th. I shot two ‘camel train in the desert’ sequences on different continents with different breeds of camel for the same episode. It’s a moving encyclopedia. The graphics won an Emmy.
